The leader of the Boombox group, Andrey Khlyvnyuk, was recently wounded during mortar attacks by Russian occupiers. The artist’s face was damaged by shrapnel.
David Gilmour, frontman of Pink Floyd, decided to support the Ukrainian singer. The British singer sent a message to Boombox, where he wrote that he would like to talk to Khlyvnyuk or other members of the group. And so it happened!
Andrey Khlyvnyuk posted a screenshot of their video call on Instastories. However, what exactly the musicians were talking about remains a mystery. Maybe they will record some track together?!
In addition, the leader of the “Boombox” told how he feels after being injured and showed how he looks. While the artist is in the hospital, he assures that everything is fine with him, also sending a message out to the Russian military with an appeal to lay down their arms and retreat.
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Masonrecently joined among many rockstars who pay tribute to the talented Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins who passed away in Columbia. Mason stated how sad it is to lose another fantastic drummer in his new Twitter post.
The world was shocked to hear about the sudden death of Taylor Hawkins recently in Columbia, where he went with his band to perform for their fans. Hawkins’ certain cause of death is still not officially determined, but the authorities believe the drummer was under the influence of a cocktail of drugs, and his heart couldn’t take it.
According to the Columbian authorities, an emergency call from his hotel was made after Hawkins contacted the front desk to ask for help because he was having chest pain. Although the death doesn’t seem like an overdose but rather a heart attack, the investigation around the drugs found in his room continues.
His death was sudden and surprising, primarily because the musician was very young and looking healthy on the road with his band. The entire rock and roll world is dressed in grief and pays their tributes, sharing their memories with the loved drummer. Most recently, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason shared his tribute on his Twitter account.
He expressed how sad it was to lose another drummer and revealed that Hawkins would send him his mixes and versions of Pink Floyd songs. Mason still ‘treasures’ those records he left behind for him and wishes ‘condolences’ to his bandmates Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, and his family.
Here is what Mason said about Hawkins’ passing:
“Nick Mason pays tribute to Taylor Hawkins: So sad to lose another wonderful drummer. I still treasure some mixes that he sent me of his own interpretation of some Pink Floyd songs. Condolences to the band and his family.”
Following in the footsteps of David Gilmour, the Estate of the late Syd Barrett has decided to show support during the current Russia-Ukraine war by removing all Syd Barrett solo material from digital streaming platforms in Russia and Belarus.
A statement issued on March 29th, 2022, reads.
“As with the works of Pink Floyd from 1987 onwards, and David Gilmour’s solo material, all of Syd Barrett’s solo recordings are now being removed from all digital music providers in Russia and Belarus. This is to stand with the world in strongly condemning Russia’s continued attack and invasion of Ukraine.“
A Whiter Shade of Pale, by Gary Brooker, performing at Douglas Adams - The Party, in 2012
On the 11th March 2012, 10 years ago at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, entertainers of all kinds gathered to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of science fiction writer Douglas Adams, who would have been 60 yesterday. One of the night’s big surprises was an appearance by legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour.
Gilmour performed three songs: “Wish You Were Here,” “Too Much Monkey Business,” and “A Whiter Shade of Pale.”
“Wish You Were Here” was Gilmour’s only vocal performance of the evening.
To celebrate what would have been Douglas’s 70th birthday, the family and all those involved have decided to release footage of the finale performance from that very night.
Douglas Adams was an extremely prolific science fiction writer who is perhaps best known for his 1979 novel, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Snowy White has just announced a brand new album, ‘Driving on the 44‘ is the latest release planned by the former Thin Lizzy guitarist who is closely associated with Pink Floyd. From 1977’s “In The Flesh” and 1980-81’s “The Wall” tours, and later as a member of Roger Waters’ touring band from the 1990s’ “The Wall Live In Berlin” to 2016’s “Desert Trip,”
‘Driving on the 44‘ scheduled for release on July 22nd, 2022, is the first album in 3 years from Snowy White, known for his very own ‘English‘ blues style, which is characterized by clear, no-frills blues phrases, which he refines with harder riffs. The songs come across as very direct, human, and authentic—as if he wanted to address every listener personally. Few master this art as well as the British guitarist and singer.
The track-listing and other release details have yet to be announced, but we can confirm that it will be available on 180g vinyl.

Good Day to all our visitors from around the globe. A Fleeting Glimpse has been working long and hard behind the scenes to update and add even more additions to our immersive, interactive and modern viewing experience of tour books to all Pink Floyd fans across the globe.
Starting in July of 2020, our team has worked behind the scenes to reconstruct “almost’ every tour book in the 55 year Pink Floyd touring catalog, For the first time since these books were originally printed all the way back to and including 1966. They have now been reconstructed in 3D technology and presented to you digitally in their original form.
This has taken an extraordinary amount of effort and is a collaboration between A Fleeting Glimpse and collectors from all over the globe via The Pink Floyd Collectors social media platform. Originally launched as an online photo gallery in 1998 when the site was first established. We have now completely converted all previous material and in most parts have managed to upgrade the quality of every predecessor of this exhibit. Spanning an entire career from 1966 featuring over 75 new additions. We are delighted to be able to bring this to the masses as a permanent feature to the site.
Due to the fantastic response from our original launch in September 2021 from visitors from all over the globe, we have managed to source and upgrade the quality of even more additions to this exhibit.
**The tour book section is compatible on all devices, but we do suggest you glance over the how-to guide to enhance your viewing experience.
