Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Dark Side of the Moon With Performances in Australia
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon, which was released in March 1973, DRW Entertainment has set up a series of events in Melbourne and Sydney to celebrate the monumental album.
The event will feature performances by the George Ellis Orchestra, a 20-voice choir, and a 10-piece brass section. Roger Mason (Gary Numan/Models), James Ryan (Men at Work, Vanessa Amorosi), Stu Thomas (Kim Salmon/Dave Graney), and James Lewis Fox (Goyte) are all providing backing.
There are also contributions from Ron Geesin, who has provided an extended score of Atom Heart Mother, which will be making its debut at these performances.

Syd Barrett Handwritten ‘Vegetable Man’ Lyrics Head To Auction
The world-renowed Bonhams Auction House in London has just surprised the Pink Floyd community with a listing of a rare set of handwritten lyrics by Syd Barrett for the unreleased Pink Floyd song Vegetable Man.
‘Vegetable Man’ was recorded by the original Pink Floyd band line-up, (Syd, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Rick Wright) in mid-October 1967 at De Lane Lea Studios, London, with Norman Smith as the producer. The song was originally intended for inclusion on the band’s second album ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’ and even considered for the third single release from the LP. However, it was later omitted.
The lyrics are being offered for auction at Bonhams with the estimated value ranging from £30,000 to £40,000.
