Ross Halfin 'shoots' David Gilmour Award winning photographer Ross Halfin recently caught up with David Gilmour for a photo shoot, and the results were breathtaking. Check out some of the pictures of David HERE and then have a good dig around, because there are dozens of fantastic pictures to be seen.

Nick Mason will be at Royal Albert Hall! Sadly, not performing with David & Rick, but a whisper has it that Nick has booked a 'Box', and we understand it's for the final performance of David's tour on the 31st May, although that date is not definite. (Thanks Werner)

Busted! Ticket Agency Getmetickets.com have been shut down by the Government. These are the charming people who were asking £777 for a standard David Gilmour seat at the Royal Albert Hall! Good riddance to bad rubbish is our opinion. Read the story HERE (Thanks to Matt for the heads up).

Filed 3 February. Pink Floyd - It's Over - David Gilmour The Repubblica Italian News is reporting that it has an exclusive interview (conducted in London) where David Gilmour has stated that Pink Floyd are 'disolved' He is also claimed to have said "It' s over, it's ended" . We have a rough transcription of the translated article HERE (pdf) We have had no word from official channels about this, but must say if it is true, we are not surprised. We imagine that David would have been quite upset with the reunion rumours being printed by some unscrupulous news outlets last week. He now probably wants to clear the air of the rumours for all time, so he can concerntrate on his upcoming solo album & tour. Naturally, if we hear anything more, we will let you know immediately. Thanks to Stefanie86 for the heads up on this story, and for the translation.

Pink Floyd + Frank Zappa. Legend has long held that Frank Zappa jammed with the Floyd at Amougies (Belgium) Actuel Festival on 24 to 27 October 1969. Up to date however, recordings of that event, to the best of our knowledge, have never been uncovered. Today we have some great news. It seems that Frank Zappa's jam with Pink Floyd on a very extended "Interstellar Overdrive" has turned up. The track, which runs for just over 20 minutes has been spotted for download, and you can read all about it, and grab the link in the FORUM

Gilmour Calls It Quits - Latest Online Aussie magazine 'Undercover' are now also running this story. The translation on their site adds a bit more to what we have been reporting for several days. At this time, there has still been no official statement. Update Virgin Net are now also picking up on the story.

On An Island Promo Folder Our good friends over at Pulse & Spirit have managed to score a copy of the official EMI Promotional folder for David Gilmour's upcoming album. There's a selection of great photos of David relaxing on a boat and playing his guitar. For fans of David Gilmour, this really is a must see.

Amusing Ourselves to Death Many Roger Waters fans would be aware of the links between Neil Postman's book Amusing Ourselves to Death and Roger's album Amused To Death. Neal sadly passed away in 2003, but his son Andrew continues to promote his Father's name. In an online interview, Andrew, in a passing reference to Roger, seems to be delighted that his Dad was Roger's inspiration. You can read the full interview with Andrew HERE (thanks to bobclose for the tip)

Gilmour Calls It Quits - Update on the Pink Floyd - 'It's Over' Story. We have managed to get a better translation (pdf) (Thanks Clemens) of the article that appeared in the the highly respected Repubblica Italian News on 3 February. If the story is accurate, then it leaves no doubt that Pink Floyd are finally officially finished as a band. Quotes from David Gilmour such as" Pink Floyd was an important part in my life, I have had a wonderful time, but it's over" and "I dont have the will to go on with Pink Floyd" makes this a sad but inevitable ending for the greatest band this world has ever seen or heard.

Dick Parry Added To David Gilmour's Lineup! We have had official notification from David's Management that Dick Parry will now be joining David on tour. Dick, who is a Pink Floyd regular musician, will be playing the saxophone parts that David plays on the album.

Win A Trip To See David Gilmour In Los Angeles! We now have the official Electric Artist press release for On An Island. But that's not all. You could win an autographed guitar and a trip to Los Angeles to see one of the sold-out David Gilmour concerts! These prizes are being given away as part of a sweepstakes that will launch shortly. Other prizes such as limited edition lithographs and baseball hats will also be available to contest winners. Full Info

On The Road Again Well Nick's off on his book signing tour of parts of Europe again. You will recall that his schedule got in somewhat of a tangle last year when he underwent an appendix operation. All is now back on track , and Nick appeared at the Buchhandlung Weiland in Hamburg, on 30th January, (pictured) and at the Kulturkaufhaus Dussmann in Berlin on the 31st. There are a number of really nice pictures from the Hamburg signing HERE (Thanks to Franziskus Bruder & Andreas) The paperback version of Nick's book (That has the bonus of a chapter on Live 8) can be purchased at UK | USA If you want Nick to sign and personlise a hardback edition Check Here

Even More Orphans! It's getting to the stage were we are losing track of all the great exhibits that are tucked away in the 'Orphans' section. We have just added a swag more stuff that we think is worthy of your attention. Check out all the latest additions HERE

On An Island Update Further to our story directly below. A number of radio stations in North & South America are now playing the 'On An Island' title track. We are advised that Sony US are going out in the US with an edited version of the track. EMI haven't yet serviced it to European Radio, but should do next week. More details and multiple links to where you can listen to the song are in THE FORUM

On An Island Played On Radio. Radio station Q1043 in New York are playing the title track 'On An Island' from David Gilmour's upcoming new album. They claim it's a 'world premiere exclusive to their station'. The track has been played once today, (1st February) and a phone call to the station has revealed that it will be played later on again today. You can tune in to the station HERE We are also told that a toll free (We can't guarantee that) number in the USA is available for requests. Try calling 1-888- 872-1043 Many thanks to Zoophobia for this story.

Pros & Cons Alternate Tour Book An interesting alternate version of the Pros & Cons Tour Book has been contributed to the site. This copy differs from the 'usual' version, in that it has a different cover, and some of the images either were not used in the other version, or they were so small that were not able to be seen before. Check out this latest edition to our Tour Book Project HERE You can view the 'usual' 'Pros and Cons book HERE

PINK FLOYD AND ROGER WATERS CATEGORICALLY DENY RUMOURS OF A PINK FLOYD TOUR Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright are joined by Roger Waters in categorically stating that there is no truth in the recent news reports about a Pink Floyd tour planned for this Autumn. David Gilmour: "Since Live 8 there are certain sections of the media that have deliberately misled fans and public by inventing stories and quotes about Pink Floyd touring: Nick, Richard, Roger and I are telling fans directly that this is not happening. We are also asking the various parties who are fabricating these stories to desist, if only for the sake of the fans."

'On An Island' Touring Band Announced The line up for David Gilmour's upcoming mini tour is now known, and as many of us hoped it includes RICK WRIGHT. The star studded full list can be seen HERE

Knebworth 1975 Another GREAT Tour Book from our good friend Slugbelch On 5 July 1975 Pink Floyd were at the top of the bill at the now famous Knebworth 1975 festival. Other acts included The Steve Miller Band, Captain Beefheart, Roy Harper & Linda Lewis. (There was also a guest appearance by Graham Chapman & what was billed as 'Monty Python's Flying Pop Circus!). Considering this tour book is over 30 years old, it's in remarkable condition and has a wealth of detail. SEE IT HERE By good luck, the promoters (The Bannisters) are very good friends of this site, and have very special deal on a box set from this event. See HERE for more details.

David Gilmour on upcoming Chris Jagger album. Mick may have been born first, but this has not prevented his younger brother Chris from forging his own way within the field of music. Now a little bird has told us that David Gilmour features on two tracks on Chris's upcoming new album ŽAct of Faith`. The album, is due out on the same day as David's 'On An Island' (March 6th) .One track (featuring David) is called 'It's Amazing (What People Throw Away)' and there's a very bluesy number called 'Junkman' which is sure to delight Gilmour fans. Chris's Website

Double Treat! Probably the best known & coveted Tour Books would have to be Earls Court 18th & 19th May 1973. This was the start of the second leg of the Dark Side Tour. The book contains early newspaper clippings, that were thought to have come from Nick's own collection. In addition, we are also bringing you what is euphemistically called a 'Show Souvenir', and although there is no original content, it's still another splendid reminder of times past. Earls 73 Official | Earls 73 Unofficial

Pink Floyd - Jimi Hendrix Tour Book. Between 14 November through to 5 December 1967 Pink Floyd were part of the Jimi Hendrix tour. Mostly only doing a 17 minute set (2 shows per night), the Floyd were amoungst many other bands on the tour, including The Move, Amen Corner (With Andy Fairweather- Low), The Nice, The Eire Apparent, and The Outer Limits. During the tour Syd Barrett was having a few problems, and this is where the infamous 'Mandrax & Brylcreme' in the hair incident occured. A few times, Dave O'List (of The Nice) was enlisted to take Syd's place, as Syd was in no fit condition to perform. This facinating trip back to 1967 is HERE

Stunning Images From Ca Ira The incredibly talented photographer/digital illustrator Mark Holthusen, who was hired only only a month before last years Ca Ira debut, has some stunning images on the web. Mark's job was to create the visual narration for Roger Waters opera on the French Revolution. The opera performed in Rome in November last year, showed the audience a series of projected photo illustrations. These stunning illustrations, and a very interesting story appear HERE (Thanks to David Sagerstrand for the tip)

New pictures of Syd Barrett Whilst we appreciate that this is a delicate subject, it is not our job to censor the news. There are some new pictures of Syd Barrett on the net, pictured on his 60th birthday on 6 January. The pictures show Syd (Or Roger as he is now known) looking in remarkably fit condition, which seems to dispel a lot of the rumours about his health problems. We are providing the link, (without a promo picture) it is entirely your choice if you take it. HERE

Pink Floyd Quebec 1971 Here's a beauty. On 10 November 1971 Pink Floyd performed at the Pavillion de la jeunesse in Quebec Canada. Of course a special tour book was printed, but this one is a little different, because 6 pages of this book can be placed together to make a giant poster. You can view the book (and make the poster if you like) HERE

Free CD's! Rockmusicmemorabilia have just discovered a 30 mins CD of Roy Harper and Trigger at the 1975 Knebworth festival and anyone who has in the past year bought the Knebworth set through visiting or www.pinkfloydz.com or our sister site www.brain-damage.co.uk and would like the CD can email info@rockmusicmemorabilia.com for a free copy. (Small charge for postage and packing). The Roy Harper CD,will, of course, be included along with the other free gift of CDs, with any 1975 Knebworth sets sold in the future to visitors to either site. Tracklisting & Line up

Pink Floyd First XI In 1975 somebody decided to promote Pink Floyd's then back catalogue of eleven albums. They chose a soccer theme (soccer has eleven players) and wittily called the promotion Pink Floyd First XI, having the guys don soccer gear for the campaign. You can see this high res promo booklet HERE

Roger Goes Jamming! It's understood that on Saturday Jan. 7th Roger Waters was vacationing on St. Barths in the Carribbean. He was hanging out with Jimmy Buffett and Richie Sambora (guitarist from Bon Jovi) and, after a long lunch, the three of them decided to play an impromptu set that night. So they did. It was at La Vela restaurant, right on the harbor in Gustavia. About 100 people or so were lucky enough to be there. Richie played lead guitar, Waters played bass, and Jimmy played rhythm guitar and did the lionshare of the singing. Word is that they didn't do any Floyd songs, mostly reggae cover tunes. (With thanks to Johnny V for the heads up).

The Pink Floyd Volkswagen. In 1994 Pink Floyd signed a sponsorship with Volkswagen and made them a major sponsor of the 1994 Pink Floyd European tour, in the amount of 20 Million DM (8.5 million UK pounds or $13.75 million US).In return, Pink Floyd agreed to do advertising for Volkswagen in Europe. Volkswagen then produced a limited edition 'Volkswagen Pink Floyd ' car. The band was consulted about the outfitting of the car, which featured special paint, decals, and interior appointments and was released as a Golf model, and a Cabrolet model. David Gilmour later felt bad about the sponsorship decision and donated the sponsorship money to charity. You can view some neat picures of this very special car HERE - Information thanks to The Pink Floyd Encyclopedia Information | Order

Dark Side Of The Moon Launch. It was 1973, and Pink Floyd were looking for somewhere to launch their brand spanking new 'Gramophone Record'. What better place than the London Planetarium? A programme was issued for the event, and fortunately a few copies still survive. Our latest offering is indeed the programme from the premier. It's a bit tricky to read some of the fine print, but it's still a remarkable edition to our ever growing Floyd memorabillia. Planetarium 73

Hakone Japan 1971 The latest edition to the Tour Book Project sees a very unusual and seldom seen slice of Floydian history. There was a two day open air festival held in Japan on 6 & 7 August 1971 and Pink Floyd were in attendance. It seems as if the 1910 Fruit Gum Co. & Buffy Sainte-Marie were also on the bill. There does exist a TV recording of part of these concerts, but the programme/Tour Book has been a bit elusive, until now that is! Ok, without more ado, check out the rare tour book HERE

Three Men In A Boat Video! Many of you know that David Gilmour made a special guest appearance on the BBC2 TV comedy special 'Three Men in a Boat' which aired a few days ago. Due to copyright restrictions we have been unable to present the video for download, but a search of Google Video reveals that somebody has posted the video on the net. As the video now appears in the public domain, we can provide the link for you. Please enjoy! (Thanks for the heads up to Jon from Nebraska)

Harvested Sampler! We have been given exclusive access to a clip from the latest upcoming release from our good friends at Harvested You can now get to see a 3 minute video clip of Echoes, recorded at the Hollywood Bowl 1972. Full details of the release, and access to the download are HERE

Pink Floyd Ballet If you are new to the Floyd world, you may not know that the band were involved with a Ballet back in 1972 & 1973. Pink Floyd didn't actually don leotards though! Rather, they contributed to the musical score. Roland Petit was the artisic director & choreographer, and hence the ballet became known as the Roland Petit Ballet. Performed in Marseilles (France) in November 1972 and in Paris in January 1973, and of course there was a tour book issued! Now it's your turn to get a look at this great document HERE

Pink Floyd Vinyl ROIO Guide. This site does not, and will not condone the trading or downloading of any Pink Floyd official material that is copyright. Basically, that's stealing from the band, an activity that is not only illegal, but we feel that it's also immoral. That being said, old recordings of live shows exist out there, and that can't be denied :~] Somebody saw a need to put together a guide of all the Vinyl live shows that exist, and if you are a vinyl collector, it might well pay you to visit HERE

Lyrics Data Base Updated! For some years now we have been offering the wonderful Lyrics Data Base, that you can download for use directly from your hard drive. Ed Paule (The author of the data base) has now updated his work, and the database now contains the full Ca Ira lyrics. This is the most comprehensive Floyd/Waters & Assoc lyric file you will ever find. Find Out More

Now available in most countries, you can order the DVD through these special links, and at the same time help to defray some of the costs involved with running this site. USA/Canada | UK Don't forget, not only do you see Pink Floyd's performance, but you also get to see the rehearsals!

Sing Up! Here's a neat little exhibition. In the early part of Pink Floyd's British Tour in 1972, ticket holders were given a 4 page 'Songbook' that contained lyrics for some on the songs from Dark Side Of The Moon. This was some time before Dark Side was recorded as an album, as the Floyd often 'perfected' many of their songs live before they were actually recorded. The song book is not visually pleasing, but it's still an historic Floyd document, and you never know, you might find yourself singing along to some of the tunes! Sing Along

Here's Some More! We continue to soldier on processing more & more material that's being sent in by fans from all over the globe. This release sees some interesting & unique items. To kick off, we have added a pic of the The Platinum and Gold awards for "Dark Side Of The Moon" from Moscow. You can find that in our Hard Rock Collection After you have visited there, why not pop over HERE and see a one off Dark Side Of The Moon Rainbow Theatre program signed by all four members? However, the highlight of this release has to be the Pink Floyd British Winter Tour 1974 Schedule. This wonderful document contains instructions for the band & crew, and details where the band stayed, some of their leisure activities, and who got the double rooms! A MUST SEE

Have we got some treats for you! We have been overwhelmed with the amount of material that's been pouring in. There's some amazing pictures in amoungst the copious piles of email we are wading through, and we can give you a couple of hints.......Think Hendrix (see left) , think Ballet! To start off, you can get to view a neat collection of ticket stubs (many signed by Roger) and other memorabillia HERE Perhaps you might like to view the telegram that Harvey Goldsmith sent to Pink Floyd back in 1974? That, and other cool stuff is HERE There's a lot more coming on down line, so stick with the Glimpse for a jolly good time!

Fillmore 1970 Program! We have been working our fingers to the bone bringing you all these latest goodies, and here's something else that's really special. We have been fortunate enough to obtain a program from Fillmore 1970, and Pink Floyd are one of the acts. This facinating document is a great time capsule, and gives a good look at part of the rock scene in the USA in 1970. You might also get a giggle out of how the Floyd's performance is billed, namely 'The Atomic Heart Mother'! We don't think this document has been seen on the net before, so get a good look HERE

Picture Discs & Signed Wall program. The ever expanding 'Orphans' section has just welcomed some new editions HERE We are still sorting through all the additional material that's arrived over recent days, and hope to have the best of it on site over this coming week.

'The Wall' Tour Book. We have been fortunate to obtain some high res scans of 'The Wall' Tour Book, as issued in February 1980 at one of the Nassua, New York shows. Shortly we will be bringing you a whole new range of Floyd memorabillia, so stay tuned for more Floyd goodies!

Animals Tour Pics We have been sent a nice pair of pictures from the Animals tour, believed to have been taken at the Ahoy Hallen Rotterdam (Netherlands) probably in February 1977. We've squeezed them into our 'Orphans' section which just continues to grow! HERE

All About Eve cover 'See Emily Play'. Goth band 'All About Eve' have recorded a cover version of Pink Floyd's 1967, Syd Barrett penned 'See Emily Play'. You can get to listen to a quick clip of their version HERE Here's a bit of Floyd trivia, David Gilmour attended a recording session of the original song, although he was not yet a member of the band.

Inflation? In September you could have purchased a special signed limited edition of Nick Mason's wonderful book 'Inside Out' for a reasonable £595 (About $1050 US) Check HERE for the original offer. Amazingly, a copy has recently (Dec 05) sold on eBay, HERE for a massive $6500 (About £3670) We have heard of inflation, but that is ridiculous!

They're Back! If you are a regular visitor, you will recall that earlier this year we brought you a couple of stories about the 'Petals' from the Pink Floyd mirror balls being auctioned on eBay. The previous auctions saw 3 petals snapped up, (bad pun!) and now there are 2 more to be had. Here's how our friend Paula Webb, who is arranging the auctions, describes these unusual items. 'This is an original piece of Pink Floyd Division Bell history and tour props are rarely offered for sale. Each Mirrorball petal is like a piece of reflective sculpture, totally original and would look fantastic on a solid wall, suspended from a ceiling or in a barn or den. It is a genuine piece of Pink Floyd history' AUCTION

We understand that Floydstuff.com have started another round of voting in their polls on various Floyd related matters. We wish it to be known that for reasons we will not go into, we once again do not support these polls, and will not be participating.

Shine OnSydney Goes Nuts! The new Australian Pink Floyd Tribute band 'Shine On' took Sydney by storm on 25 Nov. Playing to a sold out house, the band blew everybody away on their debut performance, and standing ovations were the order of the day. Read our review chock full of pictures HERE

Bob Geldof On Pink Floyd's Live 8 Appearance "Two weeks later the phone rings and I pick it up. There's no preamble I just... 'Hello?' 'OK...' 'Sorry?' 'OK, I'll do it.' and I said, 'Do what?' He goes, 'I'll do your f--kin' concert then.' I said, 'Is that you Gilmour? 'Yes.' I said, 'You're going to do the concert?' He goes, 'Yes.' All of you? 'Yes!' And I said, you've made an old man very happy. Thank you very much. I said, 'Are you serious?' He goes, 'Yes, unfortunately, I am serious.' And I couldn't believe it, really." Great quotes and video snippets Here (Thanks Tony Mulligan)

Ca Ira - Pictures & Video! Roger's opera 'Ca Ira' that premièred in Rome on 17 Nov. was a smash hit with the audience. However, the first critical review wasn't so kind. You can read reviews, see more pictures of the premier, access a video clip of part of the opera, (including Roger's introduction) and catch up with all the background, in our special Ca Ira Gallery

UK Hall Of Fame Ceremony. VIEW PINK FLOYD'S INDUCTION HERE (14MB Right mouse click - save as) "It's nice to be loved and for one's contribution to be recognised in some way," David Gilmour said. "I suppose I agree that we have had an influence on modern popular music." As we reported some weeks ago, Roger Waters was unable to attend the ceremony due to his commitments with Ca Ira. However, he did put in an appearance by satellite. Rick Wright was a non starter, as he is recovering from a cataract operation. So it was left to David & Nick to represent the Floyd. Further details, including details of an after show interview, that reveals the release date for David Gilmour's new album appear HERE (Pic (C) BBC Radio )

Roger Waters Interviews. We have been resisting bringing you most of the multitude of Roger Waters interviews that are around at the moment, basically because they have all been saying the same thing. However we have found an exception to these run of the mill 'puffs'. In an extensive interview with Serge Simonart from the Belgian Humo magazine (4 Oct) , Roger once and for all puts the Wizard Of Oz nonsense to bed, claims that a 1968 Floyd movie has been uncovered, says that Syd Barrett is 'an electricity board that has been overloaded', said that Pink Floyd toyed with the idea of asking Syd to Live 8 and so much more! You can read the full translated interview HERE (pdf) or view the original article HERE We are indebted to Felix Atagong for the translation and the link.

Unheard Syd Barrett performance surfaces! The Floyd world is alight with the news that an extremely rare Syd Barrret recording recently just turned up! It's a recording of a concert held at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on 27 January 1972. The bands were Hawkwind, Last Minute Put-Together Boogie Band (featuring Syd Barrett) and Pink Fairies. There are plans to get this performance officially released, so make sure you stay tuned, as we will have the info about this as soon as it becames available. You can get to see a pic of the reel to reel at HERE (Scroll down to about helf way) Our thanks to Scott Frank for alerting us to this.

Is Nick Mason haunted? To be honest, we haven't got the slightest clue, but Oscar Jaime thinks ghostly apparitions appeared at one of Nick Mason's book signings earlier this year! Better still, he has sent in a couple of snaps that he says show 'unusual features'. We report - You Deride HERE

Posters & Prints We have taken a broom to our old poster shop, and added a heap more new posters. There is also now a small selection of prints. You can check them out HERE

On Monday, as part of the John Peel special, BBC Radio 6 included 3 rare Pink Floyd recordings - Set The Controls, Reaction In G (snippet), and Flaming from their 1967 Top Gear session. The quality is wonderful, and far surpasses any bootleg recordings out there. The news gets better, because you can replay the whole 1 hour show HERE (Thanks to Scott Frank for the heads up)

Roger Waters on CNN. Roger was interviewed on CNN on 29 Sept 2005 about Ca Ira. Naturally, questions about a possible Pink Floyd reunion were asked. In this interview, Roger mentions that the band might get back together for 'political' as well as charity reasons. You can see the complete interview HERE
