The original mono mix of Pink Floyd’s second studio album, 1968’s A Saucerful of Secrets, will be reissued on vinyl next month.
It features classics like ‘Set the Controls For The Heart Of The Sun’, ‘Remember a Day’ and ‘Jugband Blues’, and is of course the only album to feature all five members: Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett and David Gilmour.
The mono mix was remastered in 2019, by James Guthrie, Joel Plante, and Bernie Grundman using the 1968 analog tapes. At that time the mono vinyl reissue was a limited edition for Record Store Day 2019 (limited to 6500 copies).
In light of the recent events in Russia and Ukraine a statement was released on the official Pink Floyd & David Gilmour Facebook pages in addition to the recent comments made by David Gilmour earlier in the week.
The Statement Reads
” To stand with the world in strongly condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the works of Pink Floyd, from 1987 onwards, and all of David Gilmour’s solo recordings are being removed from all digital music providers in Russia and Belarus from today.“

On Friday 4th March 2022, Roger Waters took to the National Politics website Brave New Europe about the ongoing situation between Russia and Ukraine. Normally, we wouldnt post political articles that are non-related to the music, as many fans have been talking amongst themselves and on our forum about Rogers’ anti-war beliefs and the surprise that he remained silent.
In addition to the comments made by Roger on Friday, an additional announcement was made on Wednesday 9th March 2022, in which Roger responded publicly to a letter sent in by a 19-year-old female called Alina Mitrofanova who currently resides in Ukraine amidst the current war.

We decided to post the article in question.
“ I figured something out after tossing and turning all night. We on the left often make the mistake of still looking upon Russia as a somewhat socialist enterprise. Of course, it isn’t. The Soviet Union ended in 1991. Russia is an unadulterated neoliberal capitalist gangster’s paradise, modeled during the time of its horrific restructuring under Boris Yeltsin (1991-1999) on the United States of America. It should come as no surprise that its autocratic, and possibly unhinged leader, Vladimir Putin, has no more respect for the UN Charter and international law than recent presidents of the United States or prime ministers of England have had. (For example, remember George W. Bush and Tony Blair during the Iraq invasion.) I, on the other hand, do care about international law and the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and can unequivocally state that if I had been eligible to vote in the General Assembly on March 2, I would have voted with the 141 ambassadors who supported the resolution condemning Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and demanding that it withdraw its armed forces.
Would that the General Assembly had a mandate to govern, sadly it doesn’t, which means it’s even more beholden on all us freedom-loving, law-abiding anti-war activists to stand shoulder to shoulder with all our brothers and sisters all over the world, irrespective of race, religion, or nationality, in pursuit of elusive peace. That of course means standing with the Russian people and the Ukrainian people, the Palestinian people, the Syrian people, the Lebanese people, the Kurds, African Americans, Mexicans, Ecuadorian rainforest dwellers, South African miners, Armenians, Greeks, the Inuit, the Mapuche and my neighbors the Shinnecock, to name but a few.
It has been monstrous to hear white Western news reporters (such as Charlie D’Agata of CBS News) bewailing the plight of Ukrainian refugees on the grounds that “they look like us” when addressing what they must assume are white Western audiences and that the conflict in Ukraine is exceptional because “this isn’t Afghanistan or Iraq.” That is outrageous. The implication is that it’s somehow more acceptable to make war on people whose skin is brown or black and drive them from their homes than people who “look like us.” It’s not. All refugees, all people who struggle are our brothers and sisters.
In these difficult days, we should resist the temptation to pour good guy/bad guy gasoline on the fire; demand a ceasefire in the name of humanity; support our brothers and sisters fighting for peace internationally, in Moscow and Santiago and Paris and Sao Paulo and New York, because we are everywhere; and stop pouring weapons of war into Eastern Europe, further destabilizing the region just to satisfy the insatiable appetite of the international armaments industry.
Maybe we should raise our voices to encourage the idea of a neutral Ukraine, as has been repeatedly suggested by wise individuals of good faith for many years. First things first, of course, Ukrainians should demand a ceasefire; but after that, maybe Ukrainians would welcome such an arrangement. Maybe someone should ask them. One thing’s for sure: It can’t be left up to the gangsters. Left to their own devices, the gangsters will kill us all.“– Roger Waters 4th March 2022

Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon EMI Tape Box Folio – Side Two is a limited edition of 250 replica prints revealing the rarely seen EMI tape box for The Dark Side of the Moon Quadraphonic discrete master, held deep within the EMI archive.
At the time that Pink Floyd recorded The Dark Side Of The Moon, Abbey Road Studios was already known for shaping the future of music technology.
Recording of the album began in May 1972 in Studio Two at EMI Studios (as Abbey Road was known). The sessions were rich in Abbey Road’s legendary gear, including the iconic EMI TG12345 MK IV console – which had a compressor/limiter on every channel – the Hammond B3 organ – played through the Leslie Speaker – and microphones including the: AKG D2O, Neumann U48, Neumann U87, Neumann KM86, and the Neumann KM84. Abbey Road was to be Pink Floyd’s home for 38 days over a seven-month period.
The Dark Side of the Moon emerged the following year and was released on 1 March 1973, never to achieve the coveted UK number 1 position. At the time, perhaps this multi-layered album, with its light and shade and a genre impossible to define was too esoteric, but it quickly found its way to becoming the authentic, complex and deeply personal album to fans around the world.
Sound engineer notations of this superior Quadraphonic recording remain unchanged, reproduced with original details such as tape marks and box condition details for complete authenticity. Accompanying documentation reveals detailed explanations of the tape box’s coded markings and a contextual history of the Quadraphonic sound process, channelled through Pink Floyd’s vision at Abbey Road.
The quadraphonic discrete master details the tracks: Money, Us and Them, Any Colour You Like, Brain Damage, and Eclipse. The Client ‘Harvest’ refers to Harvest Records, formed in 1969 by Malcolm Jones, a trainee manager with EMI. The Harvest label was created to nurture the emerging underground rock scene and most of the signings to Harvest were British acts including Pink Floyd.
With a release date of March 8th,This unique item is an exclusive collaboration between Pink Floyd and Abbey Road Studios. Each handmade folio is numbered and includes a 500gsm box card black folder (37cm x 37cm with a 5cm lip) which encases the two replica litho prints (30cm x 30cm), recreated in exact life size dimensions and cradled with transparent corner holders. A numbered certificate of authenticity accompanies each edition.
