2nd night in Vienna
The first night was a real disappointment for me, perhaps the worst out of the seven David Gilmour shows I’ve seen on the RTL tour. The live feed on mr Screen was out of sync with the live music and the the screen was divided in the middle so the top was a litte bit to the left and the bottom a bit to the right, it was like that for half the first set. The radio intro on WYWH was left out. The guitars keep going out of tune, you could see David tuning his guitars during the songs, especially Sorrow. But the temperature was dropping so I guess thats the reason for it. The crowd was dead.. Overall experience made the show wasent that good.
Some blokes where shouting outside the venue that it was the best show ever, and its funny how for him it probably was, but for someone who tours it really wasnt. I think you need to see multiple shows to understand that sometimes the show just can be just a bit out of it. Many of my friends dont get how I can see the same show over and over, but its really not, each night is a different experience.
Over to the second night, whatever was out the first night was in on the second, the band was on f***ing fire and I note the best RTL show I’ve seen !!! The technical stuff worked and the crowd had a lot more fun. First set was played perfectly, In Any Tongue was the highlight.
Astronomy Domine was played the first night and replaced with One of these days for the second, they really nailed it. Every solo every note on the second set was just great. Highlight was Sorrow; 10min & 28cek, my favourite David Gilmour (PF/solo) song.
The venue although beautiful, was a bit of a nightmare though. There was three entrances red, which was right in front of the stage, yellow and green which was about a 15min walk from red. So if you got of at the wrong stop, you would have a 30 min walk to get to your entrance. Another thing was the band just started playing, there was no “please take your seats the show starts in five min..” That was abit annoying because there were alot of people running around finding their seats when they started.

Great shows in a fantastic setting as the sun sets. Second night was warmer and the band were better. I can confirm a bit of cymbal bashing by David at the start of OOTD.
