The amphitheatre (Where Pink Floyd famously played) is unavailable for concerts, so the performance will be in the similarly ancient Grand Theatre in the grounds of the ruins.

David Gilmour in Concert - Live at the Hammersmith Odeon (1984)
David Gilmour in concert 84 is a film by David Gilmour from his 1984 tour supporting the album About Face. The film is mainly a concert performance from the Hammersmith Odeon in London on April 30, 1984.
A documentary called After the Floyd, which followed Gilmour on the 1984 solo tour, includes interviews with David on tour buses (the bus driver refers to David as the ex-guitarist of Pink Floyd) and in hotel rooms. Also included is more live footage of concerts and soundchecks in Europe. It is now long out of production.
Thanks to the advancement of technology, this has now been upscaled and presented on YouTube in the clearest quality to date.

Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening will support Gov’t Mule’s on tour as the 50th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon is celebrated
Gov’t Mule are to join the throng of those celebrating the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon. The band have announced a 13-date Dark Side Of The Mule tour – where they’ll play a set of Floyd classics – with support from Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening.
The run of 13 shows will commence at the Etess Arena in Atlantic City, NJ on July 22, and climax at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, on August 19. Tickets go on sale March 10
The Dark Side Of The Muleconcept dates back to 2008, when the band played a set of Pink Floyd covers at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, MA. The show was subsequently released as a live album in 2014, and was reissued in May of last year.
“This all started so organically with what we thought would be a one-time Halloween performance,” says Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes. “Since then, Dark Side Of The Mule has grown into something else. It’s a blast to perform this material but our intent is to do it for one final tour in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dark Side. Don’t miss it!”
Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening launched in 2010, and have since toured the globe performing the Led Zep catalogue, touring with the likes of Heart and Kid Rock. “It’s the greatest to represent my family and play these songs live,” Bonham says.
Gov’t Mule’s Dark Side Of The Mule dates are in addition to a previously-announced 11-date tour in May, and three New Year shows postponed from 2022.

Thanks to our friends at Pink Floyd Collectors for the heads up, we have just been told that Nick Mason has given his blessing to Roger Waters, who has rerecorded a brand new version of Dark Side of the Moon.
Motor racing journalist Adam Cooper mentioned on Twitter that he had spoken to Nick personally about Roger’s recording, and Nick has described the new version as “brilliant.” Roger acknowledged the tweet with… “Ah love my friend Nicky!”

Exactly 50 years ago today, on March 7, 1973, Pink Floyd took to the stage of the International Amphitheatre, Chicago, IL, USA, in celebration of the release of The Dark Side of the Moon, in a set spanning over 2 hours, featuring songs such as Echoes, Obscured By Clouds, When You’re In, Childshood End, Careful with That Axe, Eugene, and the entire Dark Side of the Moon album with the encore of One of These Days.
As part of the celebrations currently ongoing for the 50th anniversary of “The Dark Side of the Moon,” Mark Campbell, a budding fan of the band who was in attendance at the International Amphitheatre, has very kindly given us permission to share his collection of photos online for the first time.
These were taken exactly 50 years ago, on this date.
When sharing these photos, Mark had this to say: “Fifty(!) years ago tonight, I saw Pink Floyd from the eighth row on their Dark Side of the Moon tour at the International Amphitheatre. The album had just been released a week earlier, so we had no idea it would attain such legendary status. These photos were taken by me with my cheap Kodak Instamatic and by my friend with his Nikon 35mm. It was back in the days before heavy security, when you could leave your seat, walk right up to the front of the stage, and take pictures. Back then, their stage set looked (and was) incredibly high-tech. Now it almost looks like a high school band. And I still wonder why the band didn’t cover up that stockyards-era ad behind the stage for the Sirloin Room restaurant. At the time, the staging was incredibly high-tech, but now, it looks pretty tame. I took these pictures from my 8th row seat.”
