Identity is the only album by Zee, a short-lived side project of Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright, a duo partnership consisting of Wright and Dave Harris of New Romantic outfit Fashion, released in 1984. Wright later stated that he felt Identity was an “experimental mistake” that should never have been released. The album was written and produced by Wright and Harris and all the lyrics were penned by Harris.
The album makes heavy use of the Fairlight CMI, a musical synthesizer popularized in the 1980s. This creates a very electronic sound that persists through every track.
In 2019 the album was re-released due to the resurgence of intrest,The album was fully remastered in stunning audio quality, Digital transfers of the original demo ideas and a new previously unreleased demo track that was never finished until now were included in the release.

Pink Floyd will release the band’s debut album ‘The Piper At The Gates of Dawn’ on vinyl, featuring a mono remaster done in 2017 by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman.
Remastered from the original 1967 mono mix, the release is the latest from Pink Floyd Records, which has recently marked global sales of over 1 million vinyl LPs since its launch in June 2016.
This new release was previously sold as a limited-edition Record Store Day release in 2018 which featured a poster and foil covered outersleeve.
This brand new pressing features the original album artwork and is pressed onto 180 Gram Vinyl.
Written and performed by Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is the only studio album to be released under Barrett’s leadership.
The album, recorded with producer Norman Smith at Abbey Road Studios, features songs that remained on the band’s live setlist for many years, such as ‘Astronomy Domine’ and ‘Interstellar Overdrive’.
The album’s original cover artwork, shot by photographer Vic Singh, was captured through a prism lens that Beatles guitarist George Harrison gave him. This same lens is now on display as part of The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains.
Pink Floyd and the band’s individual members have enjoyed a long relationship with France.
From their early appearances on French TV, to their eventual spectacular arena shows – not forgetting the recording of landmark albums such as The Wall – the book ‘Pink Floyd en France‘ now traces the band’s historic ‘French connection’ !
France embraced Pink Floyd’s music right from the very first album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn in 1967. The band was awarded the prestigious ‘Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles-Cros‘ in 1969.
Their seminal French gig in front of a paying audience took place in the city of Lyon on October 16, 1968, at the Théâtre du Huitième. Their very last concert was staged in the football grounds of Gerland, on September 23, 1994, also in Lyon.
According to drummer Nick Mason, quoted in Muziq Magazine in November 2016 : “Pink Floyd may never have survived without the French audiences. We toured a lot in France and appeared in many TV shows. It was our home from home in a way. France responded to our music quite rapidly, as opposed to England where our fan base was not always very reliable“.
The group performed on more than 60 occasions in France between 1968 until 1994. Roger Waters and David Gilmour, the band’s warring leaders, also toured extensively in France to promote their solo albums. Nick Mason’s own band Saucerful Of Secrets also gigged there.
Author Patrick Ducher tells the band’s story from several different angles : firstly reviewing numerous French rock magazines of the times, including long discontinued and forgotten publications, and secondly his many personal concert recollections. Next, Patrick invited a number of ardent followers to review essential bootlegs, one from each of the band’s French tours, along with solo performances by individual band members in France.
The superfans’ mission was to provide a fair (or maybe not so fair) account of a gig in order to whet the appetite of a wide range of readers. Finally, the author posed the simple question “Why Pink Floyd ?” »to almost a hundred French fans, passionate followers of the band whose accounts help bring to life Pink Floyd’s history.
Lastly, Patrick interviewed musicians from several tribute bands, all devoted to keeping Pink Floyd’s music and legacy alive.
The author’s own personal insight, plus the views of fans and musicians, commemorate Pink Floyd’s success and the band’s lasting impact on successive generations of followers in France. The opportunity to also understand how was born, spread and persisted the typically French misconception that the name of the group means “pink flamingos”.
‘Pink Floyd en France‘ is a 436 pages, French-language book enhanced by many rare pictures. It provides an in-depth, immersive view into one the world’s most innovative bands.
The book is available to purchase now in standard edition (45 €) and limited edition (85 €) with some exclusive content: •1 numbered copy of the book ‘Pink Floyd en France’ signed by the author •1 7’’ vinyl 45 with 2 tracks by the French cover act “Best Of Floyd”, specially recorded for the book’s release •2 prints, only available with the limited edition, with artwork by Philippe Loirat, numbered and signed by the artist •4 coasters with original designs specially created for the book •2 Pink Floyd en France plectrums •Luxurious box housing
Harry Waters son of Pink Floyd member Roger Waters, With whom he played organ and keyboards beginning with the 2001 leg of the In The Flesh Tour ending with the 2016 Desert Trip concert has been in touch to announce his latest album.
December 2021 – At times, something truly magical can happen from two artists bringing their experiences and creative patterns under one roof. This is most definitely the case of Sea Oddity, a new studio album by John Clark and Harry Waters.
In the words of John Clark “In the midst of this pandemic along with some of my own personal battles – a dark psych folk rock concept album was budding. After working with Harry on a separate project I knew he would be a perfect fit. Co-writing and collaborating from our own studios in isolation “Sea Oddity” began to take wings.”
The album has a dark mood, with psychedelic folk influences ranging from the unmistakable sounds of the late 60s and early 70s to the forward-thinking edge of the contemporary alt-folk scene. The record is also a concept album of sorts, dealing with the idea of an alien invasion! The album’s artwork created by Larry Carlson and Clayton Popa) depicts a countryside scene with a rider on a horse holding a falcon. Both the characters have giant armored one-eyed heads, while a fleet of UFOs is swarming a stormy sky with a psychedelic motif in the background. The eerie yet artful image suits the music’s mood to perfection, highlighting the mercurial compositional quirks of this release.
John and Harry are credited as songwriters on every track, with the former playing guitars and singing and the latter bringing some stunning keyboard/piano arrangements to the music. In addition to that, John’s 8-year old daughter, Cali Moon, makes a very special appearance, singing vocals on “All These Stars,” one of the highlights on the album.
The record was produced by Freddy Para, who also appears on most of the tracks as a guest musician. In addition to that, the release features session work from Eric Slick, Erik Ferguson, and Johnnie David (in addition to Cali Moon Clark and Nick Stanford)
In the end there is a lot of love hidden in this dark sad psych folk rock album. “Sea Oddity” will be available for streaming on all platfroms globally from Jan 21st 2022 and physical copies along with other merchandise can be found on both John and Harry’s websites and respective Bandcamp pages.

David Gilmour - Speak To Me (360 Reality Audio / Official Audio)
Further adding to the previous release of all Pink Floyd releases from the departure of Roger Waters in 360 Reality Audio. Fans of David Gilmour’s solo work can now celebrate that the guitarist is offering his 2008 ‘Live In Gdansk” album in a brand new 360 Sony Reality Audio mix.
Gilmour, after recently releasing several live shows and his albums ‘Rattle That Lock‘, ‘On An Island‘, ‘David Gilmour‘ and ‘About Face‘, late last year for the first time in High Resolution quality via HDtracks, now returns to share his live work, ‘ Live In Gdansk ‘ but the novelty is that he does so in this time in a 360º Reality Audio version.
Live In Gdansk is a recording of the final show of his On an Island Tour in 2006, where he played to an audience of 50,000 at the Gdańsk Shipyard to celebrate the founding of the Solidarity trade union. The show featured the song “A Great Day for Freedom“, from the Pink Floyd album The Division Bell (1994) and was the only show of the tour to feature it. It was last performed by Gilmour during his semi-acoustic shows in 2002.
Gilmour played the entire On an Island album during this concert.
It’s the final Pink Floyd-related recording to feature Richard Wright, who died on 15 September 2008, one week before the album’s official release. Also notably, this concert took place approximately one month following the death of Syd Barrett. Gilmour and his band were backed by the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zbigniew Preisner. Leszek Możdżer was featured on piano as a special guest.
What is 360º Reality Audio
360 Reality Audio is the surround sound created by Sony to create a sensation to the listener that he is listening to a band in front of him, with sound stimuli that come from different points and perspectives, intensities … In addition to Sony, they are beginning to other labels such as Universal and Warner offer this sound experience. They define it as “360 degree music listening experience”.
The listener feels as if they are in the recording studio or at a live concert. To enhance the experience, it is recommended to use good headphones.
Pink Floyd Apples and Oranges on American Bandstand 1967 (Colorised)
Today we celebrate the legacy of Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett on what would have been his 75th birthday.
He was the principal songwriter behind the band’s debut – 1967 masterpiece The Piper at the Gates of Dawn – and a handful of strong early singles that helped define the psychedelic age. His creative genius was derailed by a drug-fueled psychological collapse, forcing his 1968 removal from the group he helped form. Though Barrett helmed Pink Floyd for barely two years out of their three-decade career, his specter haunted the band for the remainder of their existence and his presence is felt in some of their finest work.
By the end of his life, he had reverted to his birth name, Roger, and settled into his role as an amateur painter and local eccentric in his native Cambridge, England. Syd Barrett, the rock icon, died long before pancreatic cancer claimed his physical body on July 7th, 2006.
To celebrate his birthday YouTube creator Artist on the Border has very professionally restored for the first time in color Pink Floyd’s Apples and Oranges Performance at the American Bandstand show. Recorded at the ABC Studios, Burbank, California on November 7th 1967
