Having last played here on his 2016 Rattle That Lock tour, David Gilmour returns to Madison Square Garden for five nights! We’ve had several reports stating that David and his band played a stellar opening show last night, “A Great Day For Freedom” looks to be now back in the setlist, since it was dropped from the Hollywood Bowl concerts in Los Angeles. Below are some show thoughts from night one at MSG thanks to our forum members:
“Gotta say, tonight’s MSG show was better than the 2 RAH shows I attended. Absolutely blinding gig with amazing energy from the crowd throughout. 4th and final show on this tour for me tomorrow night 5/11.” – thanks to Adam D.
“Last night was sublime. I also put the energy coming from the audience as one of the biggest highlights of the night. David is in such a good form these last concerts, it’s unbelievable how good he is. The effortless playing, the voice, the stage presence…Music highlights of the night for me were Marooned, Between Two Points, Sorrow, AGDFF, TGGITS CBTL and of course, CNumb.” – thanks to ianhh
