Mark this one in your diary. David Gilmour will be performing two shows at Pompeii on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th July 2016. Rolling Stone had originally reported that David will probably play at the site’s Roman Amphitheatre, rather than the Large Theatre where the documentary “Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii” was made. However, it’s since been clarified that David will be performing at Pompeii’s Roman Amphitheatre, scene of the original Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii. (Confused? Rolling Stone completely messed up that story because the Roman Amphitheatre was in fact where Pink Floyd performed). David will have an audience this time, the stone Amphitheatre can hold about 2,000 It’s understood that the concert/s will be filmed in high definition and then screened in theaters for three days before going to DVD.
